
JJ, our Black Labrador, came to the winery after the harvest of 1999. She was given to Vincent as a gift from a customer and has been the center of attention ever since. Her initials stand for “Joy Junior” due to her being the successor to Vincent’s first Black Lab, Joy. Several of our long-time customers may still have a few bottles of “Joy’s Choice” in their cellars and will remember her as the dog who jumped up onto the wine barrels to chase golf and tennis balls thrown by visitors. Sadly, Joy passed away in 2001, but she passed on all her tricks, wisdom and knowledge to the younger dog. Read More +
On November 27, 2005, at a small farm in California’s Central Valley, a litter of seven pups was born to a Yellow Labrador mother and a Black Labrador father. There was one pup in this litter that was very different from the rest — she was the only Chocolate colored female and she happened to be the runt. She quickly found a home with Vince’s daughter Adrian and her husband Matt and became a special addition to the winery family. As Adrian’s wedding gift to Matt, she was named Bodega, after Bodega Bay, where they were married. Ironically, the name Bodega is also used in Spain as a term for a winery, and since Matt is the assistant winemaker at Vincent Arroyo, her name is a perfect fit. Read More +
